Basil Alwan

President, IP Division, Alcatel Lucent

Basil is currently president of Alcatel-Lucent’s IP division, Alwan came to ALU via TiMetra, where he was founder and CEO.  Previously, Alwan was vice president and general manager of Nortel Networks’ Enterprise Products Division (EPD), a team of 300 developers and staff primarily focused on scalable Layer 3 switched networks. Alwan came to Nortel through the Bay Networks acquisition of Rapid City Communications, where he was vice president of product management and marketing. Rapid City's market-leading Layer 3 switch sold under the name Accelar at Bay/Nortel and ramped to more than $1 billion in sales.

Michael Goguen

Partner, Sequoia Capital

Michael Goguen focuses on cleantech, semiconductor and systems investments. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 1996, Michael spent 10 years in various engineering, research, and product management roles at DEC, SynOptics and Centillion, and was a director of Engineering at Bay Networks (NT). Michael was also a Technical Chairman of the ATM Forum. Michael has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Joe Kennedy

President and CEO, Omneon Video Networks

Joseph S Kennedy has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Omneon and as a member of the board of directors since June 2003. Prior to joining, Mr. Kennedy served as President Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pluris Inc., a developer of scalable Internet routers, from June 1999 to March 2002. Prior to that Mr. Kennedy was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rapid City Communications, developer of routing switch technologies, from February 1996 until that company was acquired by Bay Networks, Inc., a provider of networking products, in June 1997, after which time he served as President and General Manager of Bay Networks’ switching products division until June 1998. In addition to Omneon, Mr. Kennedy currently serves on the boards of directors of Adaptec, Inc., a provider of storage solutions, and several privately-held companies. Mr. Kennedy holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and an AR. in Computer Science, both from the University of California, Berkeley

Esfandiar Lohrasbpour

General Partner, INVESCO Private Capital

Since joining INVESCO in 1998, he has led investments in AccountNow, Cortina, ConSentry, Touchdown Technologies, Chelsio, Omneon, ONI Systems, Resonext and Sigmatel. He is also a member of the Board of Directors at Chelsio, AccountNow, Omneon and Cortina.

Prior to joining INVESCO, Esfandiar was with AT&T. He was a member of the technical staff in Bell Labs, where he worked in the semiconductor devices area. He later joined the parent company, AT&T, and worked in Finance, Marketing and Corporate Development. Esfandiar also co-founded a startup within AT&T called Pixel Machines, which was in the business of making and selling a hardware plus software solution for image processing and 3D graphics applications. In his Corporate Development role he helped AT&T focus on new growth opportunities most notably Wireless (through the acquisition of McCaw Cellular) and Online Services (through the starting up of WorldNet).

Esfandiar received a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the UCLA School of Engineering. He received a M.S. in Operations Research from the University of North Carolina and a B.A. in Mathematics from Berea College (Kentucky). He is registered with the NASD as a General Securities Representative (Series 7) and Uniform Securities Agent (Series 63).

Peter Wagner

General Partner, Accel Partners

Peter has been involved in networks and computing since the mid-'80s. He focuses on networked infrastructures, including the communications, computing, storage and wireless sectors. Since joining the Accel team in 1996, Peter led investments in 31 early stage companies, five of which have gone on to complete IPOs and 11 of which have been successfully acquired.

Peter is a Director and past President of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. He holds an A.B. in Physics from Harvard College, summa cum laude, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.

Joe Golden

President and CEO

Prior to joining ConSentry, Joe was a general partner and co-founder of Accel Partners London and served on the boards of 16 companies, including P-Cube, Kagoor, Icera, Gigle, and Ubidyne. Prior to Accel, he was a vice president at Cisco Systems and held various senior management positions including managing director of business development and strategic alliances (EMEA). Before joining Cisco, Joe was the chief operating officer and vice president of marketing for multi-service access solution vendor Ardent Communications, a Wu Fu Chen start-up acquired by Cisco in 1997. Joe holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Jeff Prince

Chairman and CTO

Jeff has more than 16 years of experience developing networking and ASIC technologies. Prior to becoming chairman and CTO of ConSentry Networks, Jeff was a founder of Foundry Networks (FDRY), where he lead Foundry's hardware engineering group. Prior to Foundry, Jeff was a founder of Centillion Networks, which was acquired by Bay Networks in 1995. Prior to Centillion, Jeff was a hardware engineering manager at Network Equipment Technologies. Jeff holds eight patents related to networking technologies, and he has a BS in Computer Engineering from California State University Chico. Jeff is also a managing partner at Prince Ventures, LP.
