ConSentry Networks and Criston Partner to Provide Comprehensive Endpoint Security and Network Access Control Solution
Alliance brings together ConSentry’s LANShield network enforcement platforms with Criston’s Precision posture check and remediation capabilities
Sophia-Antipolis (France) April 10, 2007 – ConSentry Networks, a leading provider of secure LAN solutions, and Criston, a leading provider of IT & Security Management solutions, today announced an alliance to integrate their respective products and create a comprehensive end-to-end network access control solution. The companies are already working together with several enterprises, and the partnership and product integration will enable more customers to benefit from the combined solution.
The alliance enables the companies to combine the Criston Precision endpoint validation software with the ConSentry LANShield network enforcement. The combination gives customers strong endpoint validation and security, automated remediation of non-compliant endpoint, user authentication, identity-based control of access to corporate data, and protection against the propagation of malware. These controls are needed as enterprises grapple with the challenges presented by having guests and contractors on the LAN, outsourcing and offshoring a variety of functions, entering joint development projects with partners and competitors, and working through the user and data integration involved in mergers and acquisitions.
“Criston’s leading endpoint technology and strong presence throughout the world make them an excellent partner for delivering comprehensive pre- and post-admission control,” said Tom Barsi, president and CEO of ConSentry Networks. “This alliance with Criston marks another key component of our plan to complement endpoint validation technology with our identity-based control and policy enforcement in the network.”
This combined solution addresses the LAN security requirements of a variety of industry sectors including financial, retail, medical, legal, manufacturing, and higher education.
The Criston Precision client provides organizations with full control of their infrastructure and security level, assisting them in assessing and enforcing compliance (e.g. ISO 27001) through inventory, policy, and change management. The “Criston-only” quarantine network is designed to remediate misconfigured endpoints – across antivirus, OS patches, personal firewall, and other attributes – based on simple baseline criteria graphically set in the Criston console.
“The innovative solutions and market presence of ConSentry, combined with our integrated security center, is a unique opportunity to offer a complete and quality solution responding exactly to IT Security market requests” said Marc Vaillant – CEO of Criston. “The ConSentry LANShield platform adds an outstanding brick to our Security Solutions”.
The ConSentry LANShield platform enables enterprises to deploy Network Admission Control (NAC) and identity-based access control without any changes to their existing switches, clients, identity stores, or other infrastructure. ConSentry combines admission control, visibility, identity-based control, and threat control into a single platform, simplifying deployment and operations.
